The O-Shot & What You Need To Know

What is the O-Shot?

The O-Shot, is a non-surgical treatment which aims to increase sexual arousal and rejuvenate the vagina.

What should I expect from the O-Shot?

After the treatment, patients report stronger and more frequent orgasms, an increase in natural lubrication and greater arousal.

How does the O-Shot improve my overall sexual wellness?

The O-Shot works by using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from your own blood. Platelet Rich Plasma contains cell regenerating growth factors that trigger stem cells to increase blood flow and generate healthy tissue growth in the area it is injected. Additionally, PRP helped to improve the vascularization of the area. The procedure helps to:

Is the O-Shot a drug?

No. The O-Shot uses your own blood platelets, which are injected into vaginal tissue. The platelets in your blood then attract your own stem cells to the injected area to help generate healthy tissue in the vagina.

What Should I Expect During my O-Shot Treatment Session?

During your treatment session, our team will begin harvesting PRP from your blood. We take blood drawn from you and place it into a specialized centrifuge where the plasma is separated from the rest of the blood. This plasma is then prepared to be injected.

Will the procedure hurt?

During your treatment session, our team will begin harvesting PRP from your blood. We take blood drawn from you and place it into a specialized centrifuge where the plasma is separated from the rest of the blood. This plasma is then prepared to be injected.

When should I see results after the O-Shot?

Although you may notice some initial results immediately after your session, results will vary from patient to patient. Full results are usually seen by patients after 3 months. Some women have reported a heightened sensation in the first 3-7 days. Remember that the PRP that is injected will stimulate your natural growth processes so results will also be seen in time. New tissue will begin to develop within 3-9 weeks.

How long is the procedure?

The O-Shot is performed in our office and takes about 60 minutes from start to finish. But allow some extra time during and after your visit. Additionally, you may drive yourself home after the procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on your goals, additional follow-up treatments may be recommended by your physician to achieve and maintain results.

Is there any downtime after the O-Shot?

There is very little to no downtime after your treatment. You may engage in sexual intercourse about 4 hours after your procedure. You can expect to experience an increase in sexual response within days after your procedure.

What are the potential side effects?

Because PRP is extracted from a patient’s blood, there are only minor potential side effects, if any. These can include some minor bleeding or bruising, swelling in the injection site, and very rarely, infection.

Am I a good candidate for the O-Shot?

The O-Shot is safe and effective for most women. The best candidates for the O-Shot are women who have experienced vaginal childbirth, menopause, or both. A consultation with our team can help determine if it is the right vaginal rejuvenation treatment for you and your goals.
